Abodunrin Roberts earned the Degree Bachelor of Science,
Honours in Insurance from the University of Lagos and
Masters in Actuarial Science from the University of
Ibadan. He is also a Certified Local Trainer of the
Junior Chamber International Training Institute, St.
Louis Missouri, USA. He has more than sixteen (16)
years work experience of the domestic insurance market
obtained both as a direct broker, direct underwriter and
risk solutions architect.
Abodunrin Roberts worked for twelve years as an Insurance
Broker with Risk Watch Insurance Brokers Limited, and
doubled as a consultant with Risk Financing Options Limited.
He thereafter, joined the Business Solutions Division of UBA
Insurance Company Limited that pioneered the Bancassurance
concept in Nigeria.
While at UBA Insurance, he led the Audit of the insurances
of airlines and agencies under the Aviation ministry. The
audit had been ordered by the Federal Government Task Force
set up in the wake of a spate of air mishaps in Nigeria. The
findings of the audit formed part of the Aviation Bill
recently passed by the National Assembly.
He was responsible for the design of the risk management
requirements and insurance cover for the 10,500 Peugeot cars
under the Pioneer Consumer Car Finance Scheme for Civil
Servants. The scheme was to enable public servants purchase
brand new assets.
Roberts had served in various capacities as team leader,
project leader, senior consultant etc. on various risk
management and financial due diligence determinations of
various blue-chip companies and state organisations.
